Cobra Karate Instructors are not just experienced karate practitioners. They also have the skills to positively interact with and influence students of all ages and abilities. All Cobra Karate instructors confidently meet the credentials specified at instructorcheck and would encourage anybody considering taking up any form of martial art to ensure their chosen club can do the same.
Instructors at the club not only focus on their own karate training under the tuition of Alan Woods (6th Dan) but continue their own professional development with CMAA to ensure that they are consistently of the standards expected within the ever-changing arena of sports coaching legislation.

My karate journey started many years ago at the age of 10 when I trained in my home town of Rochdale with shotokan karate club Saxon Karate Club with Sensei Leigh Smith.
After a keen interest in Judo as a kid, I decided I would like to re-start martial arts as an adult. I remember my first karate class vividly. Myself and my brother sat in the car park of our local karate club and watched loads of kids and a few adults walking in to the class. We both looked at each other as if to say "What on earth are we doing?!"
